Ray Schoebel   I've lived in Chengdu for about four and a half years now, after travelling through China for about 7 months. I had no plan to live in China for so long, but once I came, I couldn't leave! I really believe that teaching English is the best job in the world, and when i have a great class I leave the classroom feeling on top of the world! I believe the key to learning English is to enjoy it and live it, so I try to make my classes fun and lively. I also believe the most important thing is to encourage students, listen to them and give them the opportunity to express themselves. The worst thing a foreign teacher can do is stand in front of the class and TALK TALK TALK!! I consider the students to be my friends and I admire their determination to learn a language that can be difficult and frustrating. I have taught English in three different countries for over 7 years and I still love it. I am constantly trying to improve my classes and make them more useful and enjoyable. I believe it's vital that the teacher listen to the feedback of the students and should never be afraid to say "I don't know the answer, but I wil find it for you". Finally, I really believe that Chengdu is the BEST, most liveable city in China, and I plan to stay here for many more years.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree of English major with a certificate of TEM-8 in 2006, and I worked as a campus English broadcaster for 3 years. From working as a full-time teacher in a senior high school and English training centers to living and studying with American native speakers for 2 years, I have got good command of western culture and American accent. With more teaching experiences, I have formed a strong sense of humor in my work.
